It really depends on where you work. Some departments are better than others. One theme that seems consistent is that the “Mercy Spirit” is long gone. This is evident by how the coworkers are compensated.
Not good at all...... Management does not care
The management does not care about you or the patients. It's money, money, money, with them. Do not try and give them ideas on how to improve the department. They will take it as you are questioning their leadership, and then you will be labeled a trouble maker. Management loves to write you up for the smallest made up reasons, black mark on your record equals less of a yearly raise. Send people home early even when busy to make up for slower days.

Mercy is a catholic hospital and the religious aspect I found wonderful. Staff was encouraging and helpful always. A great group of doctors and nurses.
