Metabolomx is changing the way the world diagnoses common critical diseases. We have developed a breakthrough new technology to diagnose disease by small volatile metabolomic biomarkers. We currently have trials underway for lung cancer, the leading cause of death by cancer and tuberculosis, the eighth leading cause of death worldwide. The applications of the technology extend to other cancers and infectious diseases. Success in any one of these applications would benefit the health of millions and represent a billion dollar opportunity.
We have promising clinical trial results along with many years and dozens of published papers reporting successful testing of our technology. We have ongoing partnerships and trials underway with the world leading clinics including: Stanford University Medical Center, the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and National Jewish Health. The challenges will be diverse and you will lead and execute all aspects of statistical analysis including: design of clinical studies and data bases, signal conditioning and other preparation of analysis data sets, determining the best and most appropriate statistical methods, performing advanced statistical analyzes with the right statistical software packages and reporting and interpreting of results.
We are looking for a subject leader that will assure the company is at the forefront of statistical analysis applied to our revolutionary diagnostic technologies. We are a small group, you will not have 5 bosses, rather you will be expected to work independently. You will not be narrowly defined as one cog in one large project, rather you will effectively contribute to multiple projects. This is not the job for a numbers only person. We want someone with a passion for and experience in the sciences that will lead you to look deeply into the sources of the data along with the scientists so that the data analysis is influenced by the science of our diagnostic technology and the science is influenced by the analysis.
Beyond the key objective of building the statistical diagnostic decision methods you will also team with our scientists and business leaders to present results for publication and business meetings.
Creation of the sensor analysis and diagnostic decision method is at the core of our product; you will be a key contributor and critical to the success of the company. You have a proven track record of successful application statistical methods and scientific insight to extract value from complex datasets. You have experience and are an expert in linear and non-linear modeling, survival analysis, categorical data analysis, multivariate analysis, nonparametric techniques, longitudinal analysis, meta-analysis, data mining, simulation, robust estimation, reliability, missing value imputation, using common computer statistical packages, including proficiency with SAS and R programming.
You understand the science and in consultation with scientists you can correctly interpret the data, assure quality of the data, proper feature selection and correct data manipulation. You enjoy new challenges, learning new things rather than a narrow routine of the same project, same meeting and same action item. You are capable of adapting to the situation rather than relying on a fixed set of skills. You have the judgment to balance innovative and practical methods to achieve problem resolution.

You should have a track record of success in your education and projects and have these characteristics and skills:
- A doctoral or masters degree in (bio)statistics, epidemiology or related field and at least 5 years of interesting relevant experience; understand it is not how many years but how much was done each year.
- Expert SAS and R programming and with the right statistical software packages.
- Experience with biological assay analysis, development and assessment.
- Desirable experience includes development of medical devices and a prior role as a lead statistician on clinical trials and/or clinical research projects.
- Solid understanding of the implications of applicable laws and regulations governing medical devices and clinical research.
- Full command of the English language is required.
