OUR HISTORY
Where we started and where we're going.
With just 5 beds in a 2-story, Los Angeles house in 1903, the hope and vision of the Women's Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Church had begun to take shape. Some years later, that vision had become reality as Methodist Hospital grew to 206 beds in its new facility on LA's aptly-named Hope Street. It remained there until its move to Arcadia, California in 1957.
Opening in our beautiful new location with 138 beds, Methodist Hospital has now grown to a 460-bed, full service, acute care hospital that is accredited by the Joint Commission. As always, we are a not-for-profit community hospital serving all faiths. – less
