Founded in 1999, the company provides GRC (governance, risk management, and compliance) and quality management software that helps firms comply with quality standards (such as Six Sigma), industry-specific regulations (such – more... as FDA requirements), corporate laws (the Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and internal policies. Its software uses e-mail, workflow management, process dashboard, and document management tools to automate compliance and quality assurance processes. MetricStream has offices in the US and India.
The global financial crisis boosted MetricStream's business in the financial services sector. The company has traditionally targeted pharmaceutical, health care, food, energy, and other industries that deal with complex regulations. Pfizer, BP, NASDAQ, Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Société Générale, and UBS are among the company's customers.
In 2010 MetricStream created the GRC & Consulting Advisory Services Group to help companies develop a consistent framework for managing risks and compliance. The group was born out of the success of its ComplianceOnline portal, used by more than a million global compliance professionals. ComplianceOnline has provided content, consulting, and training resources to some 3,000 companies since 2005.
