Productive Fun Workplace which requires PATIENCE
Developmental Aide (Former Employee), New York, New YorkOctober 23, 2012
Pros: paid vacation
Cons: cant think of any
A typical day at work would be supervising the individuals in a safe and secure environment. I learned that mental illness and disability is harmless and is not contagous, it requires love and attention like any human being. Management was strict and by the book. Co-workers were the best in town, I wouldn't trade them for no other. The hard part was – more... returning to a work place after one of the individual expired. The most enjoyable part was the sense of knowing that I could satisfy the need of an individual with simple things such as a smile. – less

Not a good company in Cincinnati Ohio
Employee (Former Employee), United StatesAugust 8, 2012
This company is very unprofessional and I have the proof to prove it. They are tacky and lacking in the real work force. I think they treat African American employee like slave. All african american people can do for them is to drive the bus and clean. The HR department is confuse and don't know what they are doing. The education level among management – more... is a disgrace. The money is a serious joke. – less

I had an encounter with them and I agree100 percent That it is not a good company to work for in Cincinnati, Ohio. They want top notch people but don't want to pay top notch money. If you have some serious skills and education they are not the place for people of color. The charters that work in HR need to be trained better.

Most of the people are waiting to retire in the next 3 to 5 years, mentally they already are retired. The worst job I ever had!!! 20 yrs behind the times. No aspiration to make improvement or enhancements which is required; an “upgrade” within personal skills, knowledge base, equipment and treads. Most of the staff are very nice but are stuck in the mid 1900’s change is a challenge (20th century). Metro update your staff the rest will follow!

Coach Operator (Former Employee), Cincinnati, OHJuly 26, 2012
Pros: meeting the people who rode city buses
Cons: assisting the lifts/ locks for the wheelchair passengers
Crazy hours never knew when you were working if you did not have the senority. I learned to pay attention & not do this again. Manangement sucks 5 different sector management to report to daily! Co- workers were ok I never got close enough. The hardest part was all those swing hours from 2am till when ever. Greeting, transporting the public on your routes – more... all over the city. – less

Metro is an awesome company to work for. Their are countless resources for its employees and the public to enhance their quality of life and service.
Dispatcher (Current Employee), St. Louis, MOJuly 9, 2012
Metro has a plethora of resources to assist their employees to have a high quality of satisfaction in life. They offer excellent health (mentally and physically) resources that is avaiable for the optimum work/home life. Examples: Zumba, counseling services, exercise facilities, stress and cholestoral testing etc. It is extremely family oriented and – more... offer days were families can mingle to get to know each othe like softball tournaments, employee appreciations and luncheons for the holidays. I can say that it is thoroughly enjoyable. The work is very involving and there is great reward for performing on the best level possible. It is a service to the public so feedback is based on how well we satisfy transportation needs to the public, which can be difficult to meet each individual need. Metro has open forums as well that the public can join to learn the direction of the company and discuss what can be implemented to better assist the public. It is an awesome company to work for. – less

While the company wants the best, they don't want anyone to stick out too much.

Lots of good people in management, however upper management suffers from having a few 'bad apples'
