Most of customers come in to this store and feel comfortable They like the fact it is not as big as some of the other metro stores. The Managers and other employees seem to like what they do and do there best to make the customer happy.

Horrible Place to work
Cashier (Former Employee), Ottawa, ONApril 21, 2014
Cons: minimum wage, short breaks
A lot of the time they didn't respect the fact that i was a student and overbooked me before exams or booked me during times of my classes. Management was rude and inconsiderate. Often times they would forget about my break and have me continue working for extended periods of time without a break.

Produce Clerk (Former Employee), Oshawa, ONApril 19, 2014
Pros: the experience gained from working in superstore
Cons: impeded on school hours/important courses for post secondary education (no longer an issue)
Typical Day; 12-9pm
What I learned: Time management, Heavy lifting skills, Sanitation skills, how to handle certain special products, organization of a department
Management: Fair, understanding, helpful
Co-workers: very friendly staff
Hardest part of the job: After a while, it became routine, but Sunday Morning/ Lunch rush hours
Most enjoyable part – more... of the job: the routine that became established; helping customer with their questions and problems with produce to gain customer satisfaction – less

Checkout Operator (Current Employee), Toronto, OnApril 17, 2014
Pros: great people
Cons: long hours, boring
The people are great to work with there. My only problem is that you don't have to push yourself in this work environment. I need a work environment were I can always be learning and growing with the company. I like to be active and always be doing something, At times it is so empty in the store I am left with nothing to do.

Cashier/floral designer (Current Employee), Hamilton, ONApril 9, 2014
Pros: caring and supportive staff
Cons: not enough hours in the week, sometimes only 8 hours in a week.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when a customer and I are both smiling and enjoying our experience with one another. I am a very social person and like to make people feel at home. Management is fantastic at Metro, they always make everything a positive experience. Sometimes ( not always ), but sometimes I hate to leave work, I enjoy the interactions – more... and I get into a groove with my work and don't want to leave because time flies by too fast. – less
