The Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging (MAAA) is developing an applicant pool for its annual November election of board members. The Agency seeks individuals interested in issues of aging and community. MAAA serves the seven-county Twin Cities Area as designated by the Minnesota Board on Aging. Our governance board works with the agency staff, and partners with public and private organizations to help elders age successfully. We are committed to a diverse workplace and governance. MAAA performs critical tasks such as:
distributing public funds for community services,
providing information and assistance services,
assisting communities to plan for an older population, and
building awareness of aging issues, trends, and needs.
While all interested persons are encouraged to apply, individuals with knowledge and experience in the following areas are specifically sought: disability issues, communications and media, chronic disease management, transportation, and mental health. Residents of Scott, Dakota, Carver and Anoka Counties are particularly encouraged to apply.
Board members are elected for a three-year term that begins in January. The Board generally meets from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month. There are no meetings in March, July or December. The agency provides mileage reimbursement for board members. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
