MCES provides wastewater services that protect the public health and environment while supporting regional growth. It owns and maintains approximately 600 miles of regional sewers that collect wastewater from 5,000 miles of local sewers owned by 103 metro-area communities. MCES treats up to 300 million gallons of wastewater daily at eight regional treatment plants, located in Cottage Grove, Eagan, Empire Township, Hastings, Oak Park Heights, Rosemount, St. Paul and Shakopee. The plants consistently achieve near-perfect compliance with federal and state clean water standards.
