Working at MGK

  • Former Tech for Pueblo, CO in Colorado Springs, Colorado 64 months ago
Yes, MGK is the new Centurytek, which is out-of-business. I worked for Centurytek for two months last year in the summer. Did not recieve any real part-time work either. I now work for NCR here in Englewood, CO and I do real 32 hours of part-time work. I have my own van, they paid for the gas! All the parts to do the job right the first time. Don't even think MGK will have true part-time work for you, you will regret it.

I work as a field-replaceable module service technician. The position for MGK is very part-time. Maybe 10 hours per week, on-call only. They are a good company, but no work from them is guaranteed to be assigned to you. If you are interested in a full-time or even a part-time guaranteed field service work and you have the minimun A+ Certification, I recommend that you check into NCR, they handle 80% of the Point-of-Sales cash registers setup in stores. Your can register with them at www.ncr.com and I know it they have a position, they will interview you for sure.

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at MGK? Any advice on striking the right note?

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does MGK stack up against the competition?
  • Do you work at MGK? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in?
  • Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at MGK? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at MGK?
  • What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at MGK? What do you like best about working at MGK? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?
