Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Long Island City, NYAugust 13, 2016
The company acquires accounts by over selling and the Account Manager is left standing alone trying to fix their mess as we cannot deliver promises made.

Depending on which Sales Reps you have, they often demand things, are very last minute, and expect you to jump through hoops for them (all without even a thank you) so you are basically their minion/slave.

The Senior Managers who oversee the teams have very little tenure and often rely heavily on experienced team members. Their accounts are somehow passed to colleagues (who don't get paid the Senior Manager salary) as they claim to be "too busy" yet you see them chatting all day and on their personal cells.

The company is a recognition company yet they offer very little to employees compared to other companies. The location is in an isolated industrial area. The walk from the nearest subway is 10 minutes. Typical hours are 8:30-5pm with only 45 min lunch breaks. "Summer Hours" start in mid July and you have to make up the 4 hours throughout the week which is awful.

The company recently lost some big accounts, had to do a layoff in January and is going downhill.
Pros
Friendly Coworkers
Cons
Location, Management, Benefits, Low Salary

Upper management (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 7, 2016
Management will under pay you & over work you too!!
Once you get established you will be layed off for no reasons at all.
It's a revolving door , don't waste you time there.
You will be out looking for another job very soon... No one stays there!!!
Upper management only cares about themselves.
They will lay you off and throw you out the door without allowing you to collect your stuff.
No dignity at all!
They are horrible people to work for!!!!
You are warned!!!

Absolutely none
Cons
Absolutely everything

Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Long Island City, NYJune 23, 2015
The company's environment is good; long lunches, no micromanagement. The management needs a bit of improvement, and the salaries need to increase. Not so much opportunity for advancement.

Human Resources Generalist (Former Employee) –  Long Island City, NYFebruary 16, 2015
At the time I worked there it was a developing HR department with no real HR policies in place. The HR Manager and myself reported into the CFO which can be a contradiction in itself. It was a rather large company with high turnover. The family that owes the company is wonderful and very smart. They are present and accessible which helped with employee moral. They definitely lead by example.

Security Officer/ Logistics (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 29, 2014
On a typical day, I work with management transferring jewelry and money of various types to companies and banks ensuring safe transportation as well as a positive communication to maintain optimal service. I also work with our warehouse division transporting merchandise to and from the store to the warehouse. While at this job, time management is key to insure that both the customer and company are both satisfied with the service in which I am providing. I would say the only hard part of this job would be the elements. Dealing with the weather keeps me up to date with rain, snow, and also traffic on a day to day basis which I have been proficient in managing.

Great Benefits.

a place to have a job until you find something better
warehouse worker (Former Employee) –  Long Island City QueensOctober 26, 2013
There is not place for growth in this company. I worked in the floor where everything gets done. I heard of a woman working the same position for over 12 years or more. Also, there is not job security so they are always hiring. Plus Salary is low. Must people that worked in floor doing physical work get paid the minimum wage. When I was there they had their workers signed up for metro plus Medicaid insurance. Besides, MCF has a kind of preference to hire Guyanese people at the warehouse. The reason this company has had good review is because HR make sure the workers are happy. HR has set up a very well corporate type of structure. Where they teach their workers goals, the type of benefit they have, creativity, communication and policies.
Pros
They encorage you to be happy at work
Cons
almost everything.
