Always looking over shoulder as management was watching 100% of time.

Pros: co-workers were great.
Cons: breaks were non-existent unless you asked.
Management treated you like you were in boot camp. Rush, rush all the time. I enjoyed my job in spite of that because my customers were very nice and I got along well with my co-workers.

Good ground floor retail experience.

Pros: management willing to change schedules.
Cons: low pay.
Most employees are there because they enjoy crafting, being creative and sharing knowledge with customers. Makes for friendly work environment. Work isn't difficult, just tedious.
Michael's does provide some medical benefits for part-timers

Cons: low pay, high stress, very little hours....you name it!
This company will hire and promote anyone that wants the position. THEY TREAT EMPLOYEES BAD, AS IF THEY ARE ROBOTS. They dont train their employees, the managers are rude, and anything you do is WRONG!!! they are constantly "changing the rules" day by day...making the work environment stressful. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY HIRING (because so many ppl quit all – more...  the time) WHEN THEY DONT GIVE HOURS TO THE EMPLOYEES THEY HAVE! If you have been there for a year, and working 12hrs a week, John Doe, who got hired today, will have 32hrs! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH MICHAELS. – less
