Secure but frustrating
Inventory Flow Coordinator (Current Employee), Tuscaloosa, AlabamaApril 14, 2013
Pros: security
Cons: never any strategic planning
Excellent company with great benefits and security. BUT, woefully incompetent management who are in a constant state of crisis. Company has numerous training programs for management but it seems to do no good. There is no focus and solution on problems, just more crisis management which is an excellent example of the Peter Principle.

Stable, but very political. Your career path is predetermined once you get in. Lateral moves abound but promotions are few and far between.

Place you make tires
Business Unit Leader (Current Employee), Lexington, SCMarch 19, 2013
Michelin is a great place to work if you are looking for job security. They have great values and they are very secure in who they are. The negatives are that salary employees are expected to work at last 50 hours a week and the pay is average at best. The advancement path is also slow as they don't start looking to move you until you have been on the job for three years regardless of how well your yearly reviews go.

Large Corporation, fast paced environment, varied opportunities
Retail Marketing Manager (Current Employee), Greenville, SCMarch 13, 2013
Pros: very diversied with all nationalities of people, benefits are fairly good
Cons: very large company, therefore lots of levels of management and tough to make things happen quickly.
Typical day - juggling priorities, email, phone calls, conference calls
Co-workers are what keeps you from pulling your hair out and what help you get through the day.
Hardest part of job is not letting the small stuff consume your day and juggling priorities
Most enjoyable- I love the field of Marketing and Communications and enjoy engaging with all areas of the company and outside agencies.

Long hours of working with rubber materials. The management team are good people, they make all attempts to get all employees envolved in the quality control and overall work enviroment. The co-workers are all friendly. The hardest part of the job was the heavy lifting.

Pros: great healt benefits
Cons: early morining starts, on-call 24 hours, calls at odd hours of the night and morning, long working hours.
The work day started around 5:30am and could run until 6 to 7pm depending on quality issues. Daily activities involved resolving quality issues relating to tire scrap. Management was good. I had supportive co-workers.

Territory Manager (Current Employee), San Diego, CANovember 19, 2012
Not worth reviewing. This company strong-suit is its main product. If it had to rely on anything else for competitive advantage, it would implode. Anyone with a higher degree (MBA, PhD & etc) should steer clear of this company.
