Adjunct Instructor (Current Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKNovember 29, 2017
I enjoy the people I work with at MACU. I love the freedom of working from home and yet belonging to such a great community.

Teaching online is intellectually stimulating and gives me a great sense of being able to influence the next generation.
Pros
Intellectually stimulating
Cons
You are not always guaranteed that a class will be available for you to teach

Assistant Coach (Current Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKJune 5, 2017
A typical day at work consists of mentoring and coaching players. Coordinating a practice plan, and setting up a schedule for the athletes to follow throughout the week. One of the hardest parts of the job for me has been separating myself from a player to a coaching role. This has also been one of the most rewarding parts of the job, being able to see hard work and long practices pay off in the end and see how these athletes grow.
Pros
Athletic Gear, Free room and board, Meals Paid for during season
Cons
short season

I enjoyed working for Mid America Christian University. The environment was fun, friendly, and an overall great experience. The only thing is the pay was not enough.

Personal Financial Counselor (Current Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKMay 4, 2017
MACU is a great place to work if you're new to the office world. Staff is overall super friendly and encouraging. It's absolutely a place, depending on the role, you won't find yourself at home stressing about. What stinks is the compensation is SO LOW. It's also a little disheartening to see how accepted the University is with "good enough" work. If you're trying to find a transitional job that will allow you to spend time with your family, this is a great place to work.
Pros
3 hours a week to workout, LOTS of time off, work/life balance is superb, $3.50 lunches at the CAF, and some level of leadership devlopment
Cons
Not many advancement opportunities, not a high demand for excellence, low pay, departments don't work well together

This university is good if you do not want to be different, yourself, a leader, etc. If you are different and not following their lifestyle they will fire you.

Not much of a university setting
Visiting Lecturer (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKDecember 15, 2014
The school has no interest in excellence. It accepts students that can't get in anywhere else. Management was clueless as to what the dept. directors were doing. My director was absent at least one to two days a week. Three days a week, faculty and students are required to go to chapel. The spoken message was okay, but the mediocre bands playing loudly were more than ears should have to hear.

The one thing I liked was the cafeteria. The food was excellent and well priced. It was nice to eat lunch and get to know the students.
Pros
Great on-campus lunches
Cons
Mandatory chapel attendance for faculty

CAGS Student Services Graduation Coach (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKFebruary 27, 2014
The administration lacks the ability to see the goal long term. They also have zero ability to communicate effectively. Problems that exist within leadership are always the result of someone else, and leadership has zero sense of responsibility for the mistakes they and their staff make.
Pros
three extra hours every week to work out
Cons
zero chance for advancement, impossible goals, ridiculously low pay, and so much more
