A typical day consisted of traveling to a job site, setting up the splicing trailer, preparing the cable, and splicing the fiber. As a job that was both indoor and outdoor, the conditions changed drastically every day. We worked in 115 degree weather some days and 60 degree buildings the next. We also worked long days that usually averaged about 60 hours per week. The management was not very organized. The people I worked with were nice but we didn't work together much since it was mostly a 1-2 person job. Overall, it was a good summer job for a broke college student.
