One Rector Park was a Newly renovated and converted from a rental to condo. We where the first on staff and a lot the Residents/Owners where new to New York City, allowing a unique opportunity to provide excellent customer service and establish a good reputation with the Residents.
working the evening shift meant that a typical day involved getting an update from the previous concierge double checking the Buildinglink list of packages versus what was physically in the package room before the previous concierge departed. checking keys in key safe and accounting for any missing items.
the building lobby was given a quick touch up fixing any out of place items and fluffing pillows and spot cleaning the marble floors and rugs as well as making sure the giant full wall fish tank glass was clean of fingerprints. all quickly to insure no one entered or exited the lobby without being greeted or addressed.
Children where usually returning from school during this time so babysitters where signed in and provided keys as where the dog walkers.
UPS and FedEx deliveries took the majority of the time with a quick scan of the packages it was determined who was receiving packages and entered into BuildingLink system according to usual time of arrival so as to have them receive a notification on their mobile before they arrived home.
all contractors had to leave the building by 5 pm and be signed out collecting any keys and taking notes for the residents.
as residents arrived the where greeted reminded of deliveries and any notices they might not have checked.
It was a fast paced building and the capability to multitask and remain attentive was a must.
The Resident Manager was a great example of being a Customer service professional, who is well liked by building residents and staff alike.
the management office pretty much addressed most issues quickly and efficiently and stayed on top of our paperwork and made sure we crossed our T's and dotted our i's.
The best part of the job was working at Battery park city with a view of the Hudson river from my Front Desk and watching The new World trade center be built.
working in a building with employees from the top firms in Wall-street was really Interesting, they where always very generous and appreciated when you went the extra mile for them.
The hardest part was going home...lol
