Its not what it seems
Supervisor (Staff Sergeant) (Current Employee), Fort Riley, KS –
Pros: travelling, experiencing something new, build loyal friends
Cons: tough on marriages, long hours
The Army life isn't easy, but not the way you think. Sergeants don't constantly scream at you like the drill sergeant does in "Full Metal Jacket". People are willing to increase your well being and make things better for you. Where it does get hard at, is constantly moving and training. It is very rough on a family life.

Work environment is like any – more...  other jobs out there, there are days you can't stand working and there will be days nothing can go wrong. There will be people you will like and others you can't stand. – less

BN/BDE NCOIC of CBRN (Current Employee), Chicago, IL –
Pros: exercised, learned other jobs, dicersity, traveled, teamwork
Cons: not productive, miscommunication, deployments
I loved to travel, learned different tasks and jobs, my co workers were helpful and became friends, the hardest part was losing my children. Management didn't really follow the Army values.

Great enviroment to learn new things
U.S. ARMY RESERVE (Current Employee), Buckeye, AZ –
Pros: free lunches, benefits
Cons: waiting
One weekend a month I go and be a weekend warrior for the day, I learn more about the trucks that I could possible be driving, how to do something that I did not know could be done. We have classes on prevent suicide, driving classes, and accident avoidence classes. The harderst part of the job for me is when I have to wait for them to give me the next – more...  thing to do, I like to be on the move on all times not to sit around waiting. – less

great place to work
aviation machiniste mate (Former Employee), lemoore ca , atsugi japan –
The miliatry has it ups and downs but is a great place to work. The best thing about the job is the benifits for you and your family, but you also get to travel and see some of the things in this world that you never thought you would see. You meet people from all parts of the globe and make friends that you will have for life. Th e chance to serve – more...  your country and spend time doing community service all over the world it is one of the best things on this earth. – less
