Loved the Job not the Industry
Mental Health (Former Employee) – Arlington, TX – May 23, 2016
Sadly psychiatic hospitals will forever be at the mercy of the bottom line. Millwood, or lovingly known as 'Millhood', has great intentions, good staff, but limited potential to achieve its full potential. Money in this society forever drives sick care, and mental health is at the forefront of the train.
I think that much of the staff desires to do better, but cannot because of monetary constraints. One has to find a way to do more with little to nothing. Patient care, safety, and continuity gets placed on the back burner and it is just simply the nature of the business. I cannot say that Millwood itself is the problem so much as it is the industry. Unfortunately they will lose good people, and the patients will pay the price.
Caring staff, clinical experience gained
High turnover, job security, safety and comfort of patients compromised
