We have an opening for a part time Medical Assistant for our small Gynecology office. Responsibilities would include collecting laboratory specimens both blood or tissue, registering the specimens and get them ready for laboratory tests. Readying examination rooms, pre-visit preparation, assisting with patient visit, post visit duties, and preparing patients for examinations. Ensuring patient's charts are current, taking patients medical history, taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature and weight, sterilizing instruments, preparing lab specimens, and reporting test results as directed by the provider. You will also be responsible for some administrative tasks such as checking inventory of the office, medical, and laboratory equipment and supplies and ordering additional equipment and supplies when needed. Ensuring patient medical history and insurance forms are completed correctly, assisting at the front desk answering phone calls periodically, scheduling visits, tests, and surgeries, and providing some patient education.
 Must have completed a one-year diploma or two-year associate degree program in medical assisting.
 Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required, certification from associations such as the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Association of Medical Technologists preferred.
 Must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for working with patients, doctors and other medical staff.
 Willing to take direction from doctors, be detail-oriented, be organized and be sympathetic to women who are experiencing the challenges of different medical conditions.
 Must have strong patient care skills and be able to keep patient information confidential.
 We are seeking a variety of experience, from fresh out of school to veteran medical assistance, experience in a women's health care setting is preferred.
 Ability to work independently and as part of teams.
 Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
 Skill in using a PC.
