On July 1, 2016, Mirion acquired Canberra – a complementary nuclear focused company. This results in a major merger, nearly doubling the size and extent of the company. Canberra adds strong new capability in specific nuclear measurement segments – HPGe spectroscopy, radiochemistry, software, non-destructive waste assay systems, safeguards systems and others. Further, the merger with Canberra strengthens the company’s existing positions in certain health physics and environmental monitoring instruments and radiation monitoring systems. The combined company has the most extensive geographic distribution of sales and expert service presence in the industry and adds another 950 dedicated staff to the company capabilities. – less
