worse place I've ever worked
Wraparound Facilitator (Former Employee) –  Tupelo, MSApril 24, 2016
The so called manager is ghetto and fake. The RM is also very fake and they make promises they never keep. There is micro management there as well and forget favoritism to the ones the staff they run buddy buddy with so they don't have to work fulltime hour but stay at home more than working then cover up for each other in paperwork. Long hours, no life , too much paperwork and don't forget bribery which is a felony. They buy the clients food just to get in their home also pay a couple bills to keep their kids on the caseload. They triple the money they spent on pizza and other unhealthy junk foods. Too much to say!! Don't apply!!!
Pros
pay is ok
Cons
micro management

Terrible upper management. Terrible supervision. Over worked and zero appreciation for dedicated workers.
MYPAC Wraparound Facilitator (Former Employee) –  Batesville, MSDecember 2, 2015
Poor supervision. No trust in upper management. No job security. long hours and overtime isn't an option, they will ask you to take it off your time sheet if you want it approved for the week. Lots of traveling and heavy caseloads. Much better for a worker with out children or spouse/significant other. This job should be your one and only priority. Trust no one.

Therapust (Current Employee) –  MSSeptember 16, 2015
The environment is toxic. They say that follow core values which is just lip service. They do not care about their employees. Upper management might try to convince you that they care but the direct supervisors and their supervisors show every day they could care less.
Every business needs to make money but that's all they care about. They overwork you, under pay you, and when your exhausted and about to break they put you under a microscope and find fault with everything you do. They make a big deal out of everything and do not forgive. You cannot be a good parent if you work here... You are too stressed,
Watch your back if you work here. The other emoyees feel so much pressure that they point out what your doing wrong so the attention is off of them. They have this buddy system between certain emoyees and supervisors. The relationships are dramatic and messed up. Everyone is afraid of losing their job.

Clients are great

Resident Advisor (Former Employee) –  Jackson, MSJuly 8, 2015
Mississippi Children's Home was a great job that helped me learn to solve problems through creative and fundamental intervention. I enjoyed working with the children and helping them reach their potential. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and I truly learned a lot from management. The most difficult part about the job was building a rapport with individuals who lacked trust and positive interpersonal relationships.
Pros
variety of diagnosis so i was able to become familiar with various mental disorders
Cons
tons of paperwork

Worst Career Experience Ever
Case Management (Former Employee) –  Mississippi (South)June 12, 2015
I would not recommend working for this company for the following reasons: (1) Employees are grossly under compensated with Case Managers being paid under $30K annually (2) Harsh Program Supervisors who do not honor nor implement the companies CORE values (3) Lots and lots of office gossip with very little confidentiality and minimum professionalism (4) Positive working relationships among employees is virtually non existent and (5) If you need work experience start here but don't get comfortable because this is NOT a place to plant your feet long term.

TC (Former Employee) –  Saucier, MSApril 2, 2015
The pay is very low for a job that requires a degree, and gives you so many responsibilities. Most of the supervisors, administration, and CEO's have been amazing. The turnover is so high, mostly due to the hours, location, and pay, that it is hard to be very well structured.

Doing much needed work.
MYPAC THERAPIST (Current Employee) –  Olive Branch, MSJanuary 30, 2015
The company as a whole is founded on very solid core principles. Management can be overly concerned with billable visits versus what the family may need. A family may be ready to transition out of a program and only need 1-2 visits a week, however the management will continue to push 3 or even 4 visits a week from the team. Co-workers are focused on getting work done, there is a struggle with team work sometimes. Hardest part of the job is not being able to go in the schools and provide therapy so your work life balance is off most days of the week. You will work till 6-7pm some nights. The enjoyable part of the job of course is the figuring out how to help the families be self sufficient and empowered to do better for themselves.
Pros
doing good work for a good cause.
Cons
work hours not fun, managed care, driving any and everywhere minimum 1-2 hrs a day.

Money hungry organization - fraud alert
Therapist (Current Employee) –  JacksonJanuary 30, 2015
Where do I start… but RUN AS FAST AS YU CAN, especially the MYPAC program . This agency does not follow their core values at all.

Currently, the agency is requiring that all new cases we see 4x a week.. and the reason is because of the BUDGET. So, watch out medicaid they are trying to get over on you.

Often times the psychiatrist would recommend that the staff start to decrease the amount of times they see the family because the family is doing well and transitioning out of the program. However, the supervisor and upper management said NO, you have to continue to see the family 3x a week because of the BUDGET! The family's voice should come first and often times they are happy to see progress and not have to see the MYPAC staff as often… but then we tell them, NO we aren't allowed to listen to the psychiatrists recommendation, we have to continue to see you 3x a week.

It is impossible to see the family 4x a week due to family's busy schedule. The agency does not pay OT for the wrap facilitators, yet all of them work OT all the time, as well as, during their lunch time.

Therapist do not get OT and one supervisor may say you can flex and the other says no. The new positions they keep making for upper management is probably what is killing the budget… but the agency is abusing their financial resources and basically making their employees commit FRAUD.

Time to seek other opportunities.
Pros
working with family's
Cons
lack of support, pettiness going on, no support from upper management.

n/a (Current Employee) –  Tupelo, MSDecember 29, 2014
Although some supervisors try and help, they really push the issue of billing and not family. They are quick to push the values that are on the back of your badge, but when it comes to your health, family, and welfare you are the least common factor. It's not the worst place, but it is on that list.
Pros
your co worker's support

your feelings don't matter

Child and Youth Advisor (Current Employee) –  Hattiesburg, MSSeptember 17, 2014
If you love children from all walks of life, this is the job for you. The management and co-workers are the best. This place is more like family, than a job. Couldn't ask for a better place to work, staff, or children. I would recommend this job to everyone.
