Contracted Loan Specialist (Former Employee) –  Columbia, MOJuly 22, 2017
Their expectations are too high for the Loan Specialist position. They began firing people when you didn't type quick enough and complete the loan entries per hour.
Pros
Overtime, pay
Cons
Procedures CONSTANTLY changed weekly, even daily.

Data Entry Specialist (Former Employee) –  Columbia, MOMay 30, 2017
Management will not support you as employee, training sucks, and you are just a number to them, they laugh when a employee makes it a year. Hard place to work. Not a friendly place to work, you sit in cube and they do not want to talk with you co-workers, they write up for going to bathroom to many times in a day, Stay away from this company.
Pros
nothing
Cons
insurance suck, management not trained.

Loan Servicing Specialist (Current Employee) –  Loan ServicingApril 3, 2017
Upper Management enforces high production goals and low error rates at all times, even during procedure changes.
Tract your time and what you are doing down to the second, with minimal "non-processing" time.
Makes you feel mindless.
Pros
Good incentives and benefits
Cons
Everything else.

Typical Call Center Environment:
MOHELA- Full Time (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield, MOMarch 13, 2017
This is a typical call center environment. As most people know, working in call centers is very demanding work. This company is no different, but they do care for their employees. Often, the CEO comes down and takes calls from customers himself.
Pros
Overtime
Cons
Health insurance isn't the best.

Student Loan Counselor (Former Employee) –  Columbia, MOJuly 1, 2016
This company is a complete joke. The work is not bad at all, the management however is a complete sham. This company literally cares nothing about its employees. Your bathroom breaks, lunches, etc are schedule using a computer, regardless of emergencies, health reasons, etc, they will not be changed, regardless of how far in advance you request. You are limited to when you can request time off, and looked down upon if you have an emergency and have to call in. You are required to work overtime on weekends, whenever they decide. If it gets busy, you're required to take a mandatory 30 min lunch, that you're not notified of until 10 minutes before your scheduled lunch. Management shows no respect to the call center employees, I just don't understand why they don't program a computer to do the things they hire people to do, seeing s they expect people to act like robots and follow their command within a blink of an eye. Please, if you care about your own sanity, stay away from this company. the money is not worth the stress or harassment from management. Oh, how could i forget about the $0.30 raise after 1 year of employment, lol.
Pros
Leaving for the day
Cons
being micro managed by idiots

Smoke and Mirrors
Contracted Student Loan Servicing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield, MOJune 7, 2016
Beware of all the smoke about how the company does this and that and cares about their employees. In the interview they make it seem better than what it is to work there. Every company should have QA but theirs is overkill.

Nice co-workers but upper management was horrible
Collections Specialist Default Prevention (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield, MOJuly 7, 2015
Received inbound and outbound calls for federal student loans. Learned how to help customers with their student loan debt. Management was horrible, monitored how many times and how long you went to the bathroom. Co-workers were friendly, helpful and willing to help the new Collections Reps. Hardest part of job is waiting to go to the bathroom on your break. Most enjoyable part of job was the good pay and overtime.
Pros
Excellent pay
Cons
Micro mananged by upper management

Horrible Place to Work
Customer loan counselor (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield MoApril 18, 2015
I worked for Mohela for 6 months. This is the worst call center I have ever worked at. I was suspended because I didn't come in on a snow/ice day. Even Though I had vacation and PTO time. They only promote the people they like it is not based off of your skills. Management micro manage, time your breaks. Insufficient training, health insurance sucks, short notice on when there is mandatory overtime, close days in advance so that you can't request off, manager doesn't provide adequate feedback for advancement.
Pros
Tuition Reimbursement
Cons
Micro Managing, health Insurance, breaks, management
