The Quartz segment (Quartz) is engaged in the manufacture, sale and distribution of fused quartz and ceramic materials. As of December 31, 2008, the Company had 25 production sites located worldwide, which allows it to produce the majority of its products locally in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Momentive’s customers include companies in industries, such as Procter & Gamble, 3M, Goodyear, Unilever, Saint Gobain, Motorola, L’Oreal, BASF, The Home Depot and Lowe’s.
