We are seeking an experienced CPA to join our all encompassing family financial firm to handle our tax practice. Our established client base is robust and ranges from artist's to Hedge Fund executives.
The ideal candidate for the CPA / Senior Accountant position:

Must be an active CPA now not studying for the exam
Must have a BS in Accounting at a minimum (any additional education/degrees are a plus)
Must have at least five years of on-the-job accounting experience
Must have at least 3 years of tax experience from within a public accounting firm
Long term tax advice
One year plus hands-on experience with Lacerte tax software
Knowledge of small business and entrepreneurial clients
Preparation and filing of federal and state returns of all types including individual, fiduciary, corporate, S corp., trusts etc, multistate returns, and expatriate clients
Knowledge of real estate tax law is a plus.
Journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for multiple entities.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of General Ledger accounting experience in a corporate environment
Intermediate - Advanced Excel skills and QuickBooks knowledge
Must have excellent presentation skills, consummate professionalism, and top communication and people skills dealing with a wide range of clients, industries backgrounds and culture
Ability to apply working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial close processes and controls and financial statement preparation to daily work
Reviews more complex transactions and prepares reconciliations, adhering to compliance standards
Researches variances and proposes corrections
Complete month-end roll forwards
Assist with the monthly close and consolidation
Prepare journal entries and post transactions
Preparation of balance sheet analysis
Research and implement new accounting standards
Preparing, reviewing and/or coordinating various reporting and analysis
Prepare quarterly estimates, extensions and annual reports
Review and analyze financial statements and other tax information for tax compliance purposes
Respond to State/local tax notices
Sales tax filings
Assist with income tax audits
Assist with special projects
International experience and law degree a plus
