strong minds needed
hourly-lead keyholder (Former Employee), Sacramento, CA – February 27, 2013
Pros: flexible hours, many locations, advancement opportunities
Cons: dealing with excessive irateness sometimes
Working for Money Mart was a fun experience in which i learned how to deal with the most difficult and irate customers. Having a strong self confidence and a strong mind to take insults and negativity from customers is what gets you through the day. I learned a lot about managing safe and staff, as it was my first lead position. management was great, – more... had the opportunity to work in other locations and learn from their experiences. My co-works were the best, worked very well with one another. the hardest part about money mart was leaving. – less

what i learned is to stay on top of the ladies to make sure that everything balances out at the end of the day
managment was friendly and nice
coworkers were fun and good to get along with
hardest part was to find the issue to see if the checks we were – more... chashing were stolen.
enjoyable part is the people that you meet and the coworkers. – less

shift supervisor
Shift supervisor (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PA – July 26, 2012
Pros: great opportunity that opened up other doors
Cons: over night open check cashing facility in a bad neighborhood
Not your typical check cashing institute, many of the customers
were turned off by the unusual membership fee's that typically over
shadowed the benefit of being able to cash a check in emergency
situations when the banks were closed and all other check cashing
facilities were home in bed. Nor the percentage fee's associated with
cashing the check. – more... And it didn't help that each customer had to wait
while we attempted to gain recourse through checking their references. But through experience, you learn which checks to take
chances with, based on the customer's history and records. I learned
how important it is not to take people for their word sometimes, no
matter how sincere or innocent that may come across. – less

Productive and fun workplace
CSR (Current Employee), Toronto, ON – March 16, 2013
Pros: benefits, we get to have our free visas, no hidden charges, services free of charge.
Cons: rude customers
A typical day for me would be doing collection calls, doing lapsed calls and even doing audits. I learned about doing manager audits, and with these, I learned to be detail oriented. My managers are very understandable, especially with my situation with babysitting, they taught me things that only managers should know and I think that is good because – more... even though I am just a customer service representative but I have the knowledge of a manager and I think for me that is very important tool to success. My co-workers are very good too and we all share duties each day. But the thing I like the most is we share this aggressiveness of making our store to be on top. To gather as much customers as we can, and not to have more collection calls, because the lesser the calls the more revenue of our store. The hardest part of the job would be dealing with very rude customers. I managed to stay calm and somehow I do not have any incidents where I have to call the police or even close the door. I tend to calm customers down every time I know that they are very irate and especially when doing collection calls. The most enjoyable part of the job would be I work alone. The only time I see someone is when I am done for the day and I will transfer my money to the next person. Either a manager or another customer service representative. – less
