Cons: not enough pay for the amount of work
The worst part of the job is the lack of security. Working with such large amounts of cash always makes us a target.

Customer Service Representative/Cashier (Current Employee), Anchorage, AKMarch 11, 2014
Days here at money mart are very basic. Calls are made payments are due nothing to out of the ordinary. We do get big checks every once in a while. Then the work gets slightly harder. Making phone calls to big companies and sometimes the companies don't like to give out that much information.

Co-workers are very supportive
Check Processing Clerk (Former Employee), Oakland, CAOctober 28, 2013
From this job I learned how to be keen in checking meticulously your work cause there is a chance of fraud, stolen or close accounts on the checks that we received and that is the hardest part.
What I enjoy here is the kindness and support of my co-workers and the management.

Bad place to work
Csr (Current Employee), OntarioOctober 12, 2013
Don't train you properly
Expect to learn too many things at once
You don't get paid if you stay longer hours , you won't realize it till you count your hours of work.
Managers and DM tend to be professional but they are not. They are not fair to certain employees.
You will be on their bad side if you don't agree with them or raise your voice for your – more... rights. They will pick on you.
All the upper level management work as a group they don't listen to both sides before making any decision
They never keep their promises for example they hire you for full time position and later gives you part time hours.
They advertise the salary range from$11 - $14 but no matter how experience you are they will start with $11 saying how poor they are doing with their budget.
Good thing about working at money mart is you get to see so many drama and shows
Most of the csr are rude to customers .
If you work there try to be the managers good pet otherwise you will be ripped off . No equality and fairness at this company .. You don't get respect for what you do. They know very well how to use you in their bad time – less

Worked here for a short time.
CLERK (Former Employee), Upland, CAOctober 10, 2013
Pros: safety, acknowledgement, understanding
Cons: cattiness, overbearing uppers
I worked for Money Mart for about 4 months. The management was very kind, understanding and fair. A typical day at work would be cashing checks, verifying information, filing and creating loans. I learned some really good customer service skills here, such as keeping personal information to myself, always smile and don't take things personally when – more... a customer is upset. My co-workers were really nice girls who enjoyed their jobs. The hardest part of this job was being able to feel comfortable being myself. In the end, I suppose I wasn't a right fit for the upper management. The most enjoyable part was helping people pay their bills, and making sure people understood what they were getting into with loans. – less

Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Baton Rouge, LASeptember 26, 2013
Pros: contest against other stores for a chance to win lunch or gift cards.
Cons: insurance benefits
Process Payday Loans, cash checks and money orders, and make collection calls. While working here at Money Mart I learned how to provide exceptional customer service to customers. Management here is good they are very understandable and works with employees. My coworkers are team workers we help each other to get the job done. There is really no hard – more... part of the job. the most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and being able to help customers in their time of need. – less

Good place to work for, dealing with the public
Office Manager/Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Garland Texas 75041September 20, 2013
Pros: worked with little or no supervision.
Cons: allways tried to keep my customers happy.
I was the person that opened the store, made sure we were ready to start the day.started my day by calling delinquent loan accounts, greeted all people that come in to apply for a loan, made new loand, handle all payments, dealing with cash, bank deposits, daily balance, outside collections, I learned how to work with the public and handle all types – more... of people.managments was great it being a one owner, he was great to work for.my co-workers at the time were great, I got along with everyone.the hardest part about my job then was outside collection.I did enjoy my job, love working with the public. – less

Enjoyed my Customers and their families.
Manager (Former Employee), Fullerton, CASeptember 16, 2013
Pros: meeting goals and winning prizes.
Cons: worked long hours, six days a week.
A regular day at work was always fast paced. I learned how to handle and take care of customer's needs. Helping a customer resolve any matters with their accounts with our company. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing a customer leaving with a smile of their face. When I leave for the day, I feel confident that I have done my job as an – more... employee and as a manager.
I strongly believe in customer service and team play. We all work for the same company and no matter what your title is, everyone should always be on the same page or attempt to get there. – less

Branch Manager (Former Employee), Lafayette, LAJune 17, 2013
Pros: good hours of operations
Cons: you are no one to this company
The Job is not hard at all. Upper Management make it more harder then what it is. Management does care about you as a person, all they care about is making a living for them and there family and can give a dam about yours. They don't believe in training you or taken the time deveople you are not. Job security here today going tomorrow no questions asked. – more... Most locations are in bad places, where you have to watch your back. I wouldn't recommend this job to my dog.... – less

strong minds needed
hourly-lead keyholder (Former Employee), Sacramento, CAFebruary 27, 2013
Pros: flexible hours, many locations, advancement opportunities
Cons: dealing with excessive irateness sometimes
Working for Money Mart was a fun experience in which i learned how to deal with the most difficult and irate customers. Having a strong self confidence and a strong mind to take insults and negativity from customers is what gets you through the day. I learned a lot about managing safe and staff, as it was my first lead position. management was great, – more... had the opportunity to work in other locations and learn from their experiences. My co-works were the best, worked very well with one another. the hardest part about money mart was leaving. – less
