Supportive Setting and a great Learning Environment
Speech Language Pathologist (Current Employee) – Salinas, CA – May 4, 2017
A typical day at work involves stopping in to all the classrooms before treatment and consulting with the staff regarding the students. I then begin treatment, which lasts the majority of the day, and the last hour- 2 hours of work is used for paperwork and creating materials. The hardest part of the job is becoming familiar with the students and their various struggles, be it due to their disorder or the home life, but the best part of the job is being able to be a light in someones dark day. I love my job, and Im very sad to be leaving here.

Literacy Tutor (Former Employee) – Salinas, CA – September 23, 2016
Being a member of AmeriCorps is a demanding job with little pay/benefits. Helping the children, having great co-workers and a wonderful coordinator made all the difference during my time here. We were giving plenty of training throughout the year and the "higher ups" were always thankful for our hard work.

Here, my title was Secretary II (Former Employee) – Salinas, CA – June 14, 2012
I arrived fifteen minutes early to have my breakfast. I first was assigned to work with the Williams Legislation Program where I would prepare schools lists and assigning county employees to inspect school sites for erosion damages to school site. When my assignment was completed, I was transferred to the Business Office as Secretary II where I was trained by the Secretary I to assist her in preparing conference meetings, registering and reserving conference rooms for other off site companies. Management was so very kind, caring and helpful when I needed them. My co-workers were always there when I needed assistance in jobs I was not yet familiar with that were assigned to me. The hardest part of my job was learning to take minutes in a conference meeting which I still would probably have trouble learning. The most enjoyable part of my job was all of the training I received with out prejudice knowing that they would do all they could to try and keep me there as an employee by transferring me to different departments until they could not keep me any longer.
flexable lunches, time off when i needed it. very understanding people.
