Fast paced, ever changing work environment
Dean's Assistant/Academic Advisor-CACS (Former Employee), Monterey, CASeptember 21, 2012
Pros: wonderful campus, great co-workers.
Cons: monterey is cold and foggy.
The students, faculty and co-workers were wonderful. I embraced the cultural differences. The collaboration among the team was exceptionally good. We respected each other and respected each others boundaries.
The students were the high point of my day. They were the reason and focus of any day at work. They keep you young and alive!
I learned how to – more... multi task several projects at once and became very good with keeping many balls in the air at once.
The management at times seemed miss-directed. The work environment at time was highly political. However, I was very good at navigating and quick to assess what needed to be done. – less

Great place to get to started at MIIS

Center for Advising and Career Services

I work with advisers to help students trying to decide on careers and land jobs. The environment is informal and friendly, but students have interviews and meetings with future employers in this office--so it's no joke what goes on around here.
