Love working with teens
School Health Assistant (Former Employee), Bronx, NYJuly 7, 2014
Pros: free lunches
At Morris Height School Based Health Center a day at work was also enjoyable, exciting, fun but overall very interesting. I loved listening to teens that are growing up into adults. Also educated them on the reproductive health and making sure they were healthy, and getting them ready to get their working papers. Management was great their provide all – more... the support and supplies we needed to make sure these young adults are doing the right thing or atleast making better decision based on their health. The hardest part of my job was seeing every single kid all in one day and also dealing with kids fighting eachother. I enjoy that the student respect me and saw me a role model since i wasn't that far from their age range. – less

Always busy which is good
Secure Environment
Everyone is open to teaching and learning from one another
hardest part would be when the patients refuse to cooperate
most enjoyable part would be knowing that you help someone get the answer they needed, and put them at ease.

Daily contact with patients
CASE MANAGER (Former Employee), Bronx, NYMarch 29, 2014
Pros: patients with great personalities.
Cons: none that i could think of
A typical day consisted of client contact throughout the day for assistance in medical and social services as well as occasional housing/ entitlements emergencies.
I learned that sometimes people have needs that cannot be met because they are not ready to address the issue.
Management constantly changed because of the turn over rate but we always embraced – more... the changes.
My co-workers were great to work with and we always maintained an honest professional relationship.
The most enjoyable part of the job was helping the clients get the services they needed. – less

Helpful and productive place to develop your knowledge
Internship (Former Employee), Bronx, NYFebruary 7, 2014
A typical day at work very busy. Most of the doctors everyday see 20-30 patients per day. I learned so many thing. I went to 7 different areas as pediatrics, lab, dentist, gynecology and obstetrics, family practices, specialty and others.
My co-workers were so helpful and kind person.
The most enjoyable part of the job is to help the people to feel – more... better and be a way in where they can improve their health.
The hardest part is when the times flies and we have to much to do.
In conclusion, the place was very good and helpful for me. It helped me to develop myself as a person and also how to deal more with people. – less

Medical Assistant Volunteer Work (Former Employee), Bronx, NYAugust 28, 2012
Pros: break, commute
Cons: rotations were fast
My first time volunteering in the medical field. I didn't know what to expect at first. I was excited and motivated to start wearing my uniform and actually seeing patients. The first time I prepped a patient, I remember going home with a smile and hugging my mother for being supportive of me to continue my education. I learned how to prep patients – more... in room, EKG, mastered my venipuncture skills, urinalysis, taking patient medical history. I enjoyed the people I worked with. They were professional and motivated to teach the interns. The hardest part of the job was actually leaving it to move on into the real aspects of medical setting. I enjoyed my experience at Morris Heights. – less
