Pros: to have worked as a switchboard operator
Cons: taking a full time position in the radiology department
Working as a switchboard operator was wonderful. Management and co-workers were all wonderful, friendly, and worked as a team member. The most challenging part was remembering the list of extensions for all the departments and knowing who worked in what area of the hospital. The best part was working in a department where everyone was so welcoming, friendly, helpful, and a team member.
When I switch over to the Radiology Department it was the most unprofessional work environment I have ever worked in. Managment and co-workers were rude, unhelpful, didn't work as a team, everyone was out to get everyone in that department, rules were not obeyed, customer service was horrible, there was no respect, and no such thing as confidentiality. It was very difficult going into work everyday not knowing what I was going to walk into, who would be working, and what the night was going to bring. I guess that is why the supervisor, management, and co-workers have been fired since I resigned my position.
