New Coach Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – Schaumburg, IL – September 18, 2017
When ever I had a question about our product, the staff was very helpful in educating me on what it was. The incentives were great and the management after a couple of duds, were great. The last boss I had even tried to find a new spot within the company for me when my position was eliminated.
Beautiful Product however you must be hand in hand with upper management.
Office (Former Employee) – Louisville, KY – August 23, 2017
Great place to work but unless you are kissing management's you know what or actually know management, you won't go anywhere in this company. They hire their friends first so there is no promoting from within. The management team says they are for you but when it comes down to coming up for bat for you, it's about how they look. It's a numbers game with MCI and if you aren't making the numbers look good than you are history. They care about what they look like to their now Shareholders (since merge with New Flyer) and how great each department can manipulate their numbers to make sure the overall picture looks like everyone is doing there job. They play favoritism to their employees and have no problem showing it. The treat their warehouse employees like their job is not as important as the ones in the office. Basically, if you aren't rubbing arms with management, have a college education, drive a nice care, wear nice clothes than you are considered a nothing here. I have heard management say they will post a job only because they have to but they will not hire from within...so much for helping you progress to the next level. Bottom line, good money but mind your business except expect the backlash...
Sales Representative (Former Employee) – USA – July 21, 2017
Compensation was good, but that's where it ends. Senior management does not support new hires. One female in particular, needs to retire. There are some great employees working at corporate office. Very unfortunate, could be a great place to work.
Service Center (Former Employee) – United States – April 2, 2017
Used to be a fun, great company to work for. Now, there are more executives than service center employees, and there are totally inexperienced people trying to keep their jobs, it not knowing anything any the day to day Operations. Be careful...if you don't suck up to mgmt, they'll try to force you out. HR is no help at all
Great customers, they pay for part of your safety shoes
Upper management is clueless and does not value opinion of ANYONE who is not management
Bus Technician (Former Employee) – Blackwood, NJ – December 10, 2016
I loved working there had a good work environment. Love working on buses. Its just something that runs through my blood since almost every male family member in my family is a bus or diesel mechanic. I also love working on tractors and trailers.
Would be rewarded with food for reaching deadlines
Great company to work for, professional, courteous and informative. MCI is nation wide motor coach manufacturer, largest in the country, as a driver you are hired as an independent contractor, which the work is per diem. I traveled from dealership to dealership delivering buses and bringing back the trade ins.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Former Employee) – Loudonville, OH – October 13, 2014
one big family and worked together as a team and the hardest part of the job was a corporate head not there at all times to review the success and productive work done there. i learned that teamwork is terrific and always have compassion for your coworkers. respect your leaders and be honest with all.
Staff Accountant (Former Employee) – Schaumburg, IL – October 2, 2013
Motor Coach Industries Inc. is a company you would like to work with for the rest of your working life. There's always room for improvement. Management and Staff work well together for the success of the company.
Motor Coach views all employees as expendable resources and does not take the time or effort to get to know the employees and understanding the day to day tasks. They have let go a number of excellent management people and put the burden of their responsibilities on everyone else. Poor Senior support and leadership.
Fair wages, Benefits are above average
Management turnover and Senior Management Support and Involvement
Current employee (Former Employee) – Dallas – May 1, 2013
Shame to see such a great company tarnished with poor management here in Dallas. Incompetent general manager, unorganized, understaffed and department set up for failure. No support, highly stressful and lack of effective communication. Great company to work for but need to have Dallas facilities issues y resolved.
