Technical and highly commited people
Engineering IT Associate (Former Employee) –  Chicago ILJanuary 9, 2017
Motorola Mobility is struggling in today's cellphone market. Currently owned by Lenovo, the cellphone is being transferred over to the Motorola Mobility operations in China.

The people that work at Motorola Mobility are very technical and highly motivated to make a high quality product for the consumer. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the individuals over the course of my career.

The work environment has been very challenging over the past three (3) years due to the completion in the market and all of the cost cutting that the company has had to do.

Motorola is a brand with a heritage built on quality and innovation. They have the best engineers in the world who are the heart and soul of the products they build and deliver to users.

As part of Lenovo family, there is huge opportunity for a business turn-around. However its entirely dependent on the leadership across organizations to make that happen.
Pros

Product Manager (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaOctober 2, 2016
Work culture is excellent, nice work/balance. You can work in the projects you want. Unfortunately the company has been through many re-orgs, so the long term strategy is not clear, it's constantly changing. Pay is below average.

US operations being severely cut back
Director, Global Product Development (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILOctober 2, 2016
The most salient review point to make is that after 2 years of ownership by Lenovo, they appear in the process of ramping down the Motorola Mobility business, based on layoffs that have claimed an estimated 2/3rds of all employees.

Tremendously talented individuals work at Motorola Mobility; however, the business is not stable.

great company
Hardware Test Engineer (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJuly 31, 2016
They did not reimburse me for traveling 150 miles to the nearest airport. I had to repeatedly explain to their representative the location of the nearest airport to my location. They were clearly more interested in hiring someone who was a good talker, than they were interested in someone with good engineering skills
Pros
great work culture
Cons
no issues
