Actually by escorting a resident at the nursing home I worked for. She was a cancer patient so I would volunteer to take her for chemo and her transfusions as well as escort her to the emergency room. I would visit her during her stay. And I got plugged in simply being kindly, friendly and curious until a PCA said you need to work here and he helped me to do just that!
