MACED works with people in eastern Kentucky and Central Appalachia to create economic opportunity, strengthen democracy and support the sustainable use of natural resources.
After 27 years, the challenges of developing sustainable businesses that make a difference to local communities and protecting natural resources still define our work. Choices – more... we make today either limit or expand what,s possible tomorrow. Our work is about taking advantage of these possibilities and taking on the challenges that limit them.
MACED seeks to identify and implement creative development strategies that work for communities in the region. Our work includes:
strengthening local entrepreneurs and homegrown businesses through technical assistance and lending;
empowering people and organizations to improve their communities through community development innovation, assistance and training;and
