Waiter (Former Employee), Humble, TX – October 23, 2013
As a waiter a typical day was waiting on tables and ensuring that the meal was served in a timely manner as well as cleaning up the theaters after the guests had left. I never had a bad manager at Movie Tavern. All were helpful and friendly. Almost all of my co-workers were very easy to get along with and hardworking. The hardest part of the job was – more... when your section would fill up immediately because the theater just opened up for seating. The most enjoyable part was being around all of the people and serving them while they enjoyed their movie. – less
Nice place to have a good dinner and see a good movie.
Server (Former Employee), Arlington, TX – September 19, 2013
Pros: having a good job
Cons: short breaks, and small pay
A typical day at work for me was taking orders, taking food to customers, and receiving payments. I learned a lot being a server, mostly was figuring out ways I could get their food and drinks to them the fastest. The management was very well, if we ever had a problem our managers helped us every and any way they could. My coworkers were great, we all – more... helped each other the best we could and I think that's very important in a work place, Everyone should help each other! The hardest part was when we were slammed and the customers would get angry. But, I would just calmly explain to them that we were backed up and then did whatever I could to keep them happy until they received their food. What I enjoyed the most is being able to make people happy and help them enjoy their time at the Movie Tavern! – less
HOSPITALITY REP (Current Employee), Aurora, CO – August 1, 2013
I would set up my station including beverage, food, and cash register. place orders and sometimes prepare the food ordered. enjoy the fun moments with my co-workers whenever possible. I think the hardest pat of working at Elitches was running out of food or products needed.
Hostess (Former Employee), Houston, TX – July 5, 2013
Pros: free movies and popcorn
My first job, 16 years old and learning to handle cash, learning to sell movie tickets and talk to customers - how fun!
A typical day for me was to go in and sell tickets for 4 hours after school while eating popcorn on the job. I got to see free movies off the clock and I got to work with some of my best friends, what more could a girl as for in a – more... first job?
The management was great, always helping the hostesses out with the Sold Out premieres of Spiderman III and Transformers. Dealing with 350 people anxiously waiting to watch a movie can be a little overwhelming! – less

Cons: no breaks, long hours, less sleep. aching feet, bad odor, rats in kitchen
Never work at movie tavern. They don't go by the avalibilty that you provide on your application. they don't respect your need to sleep. they will over work you. and still expect you to show up. the pay is horrible. and the management is out of order. Its terrible. the only thing i learned was how to cover my own behind
