The company as a whole is good, but they have poor local management.

The day starts at eight am and goes til you finish your assigned work load. I could be doing service calls all day or a mixture of service and installs. No matter what the call may be the key of the day is to keep the customer satisfied. installing Directv, co-workers are reliable for help, managment very comprehending, hardest part of my job is dealing with directv on the phone trying to get the orders correct, the most enjoyable time is when im done for the day and go home to my family

I Worked 18 hours a day 7 days a week.
I learned not to trust anyone on the corporate level.
Management will throw you under the buss anytime they can.
The co-workers are a good group of hard workers.

Worked as a tech for six months. All of the rats jumped off of the ship bc the local office in Shreveport sucked. No leadership. Poor training. Everyone did as they saw fit. Most of the people I trained with as trainees left within four weeks bc you would have a manager send you home for being two minutes late on Friday never mind that you were out – more... probably until 2:30 am the night before on a job in BFE east Texas. A typical day at work began at 7am and ended at 9pm. I worked only customer complaints and scheduled field service appts. Lower Management really cared about the team.
I had a lot of excellent co workers.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with screaming customers.

I have been working here for about 8 months, This company is low as you can get. Like in other reviews yes you will be sitting in a room with other techs for a meeting and it will be the same thing, about your performance, bring jobs up to code, any real questions you or others ask will get shot down fast.
Most of the time the right side of the brain – more... dose not know what the left side is doing, rules change, we went threw 3 managers so far. Your lunch breaks will mostly be in a van driving to the next job but they tell you its mandatory, dispatch is a joke some times there are a small bit of good people in there. Training? You will learn more from veteran techs then you will from the trainer.
If you don't know how to add items to the oli list you'll starve, have to play the system.

You are never off, you work 15+ hrs some days, you are forced to sit and listen all time the same words from the "managers" and now they wants everybody working 7 DAYS 6 am through 9 or 10 pm all days!!! this is an ABUSE. and i talking about your MIAMI office.

My questions is:

How long we have wait to see any change in this office????????

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to work for them until they complete whatever sale they are preparing for.
The pay has gone down over the last 5 years and most of it's talent has fled to competitors. It is so bad that they have begged their competitors to stop taking their talent.
The problem is that this company has no leadership.

I really have very few good things to say about this company which is the common concensus of current and former employees.

Company is lacking in common business practice. They demand high production with little support or acknowledgement of service.

Underpay their employees and offer little opportunity for advancement. There is a "blame someone" atmosphere when something goes wrong and instead of offering coaching when a worker slips up, they just fire them.

Benefits are a joke (no paid vacation, expensive HC, very little PTO). Simply put, a struggling corporation that tries to cut back on amenities – more... regular employers provide just to get a better bottomline. Don't bother even applying here. – less

company lacks ethics and has high turnover rate because of lack of appreciation for employees only cares about bottom line

Typical day is 12 hours/3 days a week. It has a call center feel. Close contact with co-workers. Hardest parts are the constant deadlines you need to meet and the standards. Most areas don't meet the deadlines/standards. Pay is not that great. The job postings say holiday pay, comparable wages, things like that and that is not true.

My job as a cable technician was too, mount a satellite dish up on the customers resident to acquire cable within their household and show the customer how to use your system properly.

When I first started it was fun and we got work done. However as time went on it became more and more about getting money less and less about customers

lot of inventory and organization, the management is cool. The toughest part were loading out techs with equipment.
