Munroe Regional Health System operates the Munroe Regional Medical Center and affiliated facilities serving residents of north central Florida's Marion County and surrounding areas. Munroe Regional Medical Center is a 420-bed acute-care hospital that offers comprehensive medical, surgical, and emergency care, along with programs devoted to cardiovascular care, stroke prevention and care, orthopedics, and women's health. The hospital is operated under a lease agreement with the Marion County Hospital District. Munroe Regional Health System also provides home health services and operates outpatient clinics providing primary care, diagnostic, and rehabilitation therapy services.
Munroe Regional Health System serves those who reside in the north central Florida county of Marion, as well as its surrounding areas.
Munroe Regional Health System has expanded its services by partnering with other health care providers and by forming strategic joint ventures. Such partners include Clinical Lab Solutions, Heart of Florida Health Center, Medical Imaging Center, Munroe HealthCare, TimberRidge Imaging Center, TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Women's Imaging Center.
For access to four additional operating rooms, a pair of procedure rooms, and a 6% market share, Munroe Regional Health System in late 2012 agreed to acquire a 20% stake in Surgery Center of Ocala. The surgery center, which performs some 4,200 procedures each year, will benefit as well from the health system's greater purchasing power for its supplies and medicine. – less
