Collections Intern, Boston, MA - May 26, 2013
I was fortunate enough to be an intern at the Museum of Science within the Collections department. Being a small department including only 3 permanent staff members I was able to become familiar with every aspect of the Collections department. The curator became a mentor during my time at the Museum and gave me invaluable training and information in the museum industry. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to design, install, and curate my own exhibit project. The internship provided me with the tools to excel in the museum industry. The hardest part of the job was dealing with object maintenance issues that came up and having to learn how to repair things immediately.
