A lake Marina can be very busy and exciting or boring to say the least. When I would arrive at work I would get the gift shop along with the cash register ready. I usually had some FAQ's near me that I wrote myself as the job went on. I had to learn rules and regulations of the lake so I could answer customers questions concerning the park or lake. My day was mainly productive helping customers out and just being friendly as I could. I learned how to handle customers issues without showing anger toward them in any way and how to communicate with employees and customers more efficiently. The co-workers I worked with were amazing to work with. I was grateful to be surrounded by a great team. The hard parts of my day usually came around on the weekends. The marina was joined with a restaurant which became very busy in the evenings, so I would become badgered with questions and handling checkouts of merchandise on my own. I would become overly joyed at the end of the day when I would think back on the customers I helped and made their day go a little smoother. That was most enjoyable to me.
