Effectively maintain, and support information systems in a wide range of computing environments using Microsoft Windows 2000 servers and the BackOffice suite of software. Principally provides technical services to internal customers.
Respond to user helpdesk requests and provide tier 1/tier 2 user support for resolving problems with computer hardware, software and network connections.
Troubleshoot problems with accuracy and swiftly resolve and apply solutions.
Maintain accurate recordkeeping and incident logs
Install, configure, and support LANs, WANs, SAN, internet access and Microsoft servers
Install new and upgrades to Windows PC operating systems as well as various hard and software products.
Communicate with staff and external support organizations to resolve technical problems and escalate issues as appropriate.
Perform necessary maintenance to support the network & users
Document processes and procedures in an effort to enhance overall efficiency. Update documentation where applicable.
Maintain user ID’s and passwords
Maintain PC inventories
Set-up of PCs for training and presentations
Relocates PCs within the client offices as needed
Monday - Friday with 1 hour unpaid lunch. Must be available to occasionally work evening or weekends to support users or to perform program and system testing
Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities
2-4 Years of experience working with MS Windows 2003/2008 environment
Knowledge of VMware, Linux & Sharepoint helpful, but not necessary
Ability to work and meet scheduled deadlines
Aptitude to work with computer equipment
Ability to approach end user problems and questions with a high degree of understanding and tactfulness
Strong oral and communication skills
Solid Windows troubleshooting skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite
Ability to learn new technologies
Must be able to lift and/or move personal computers, personal printers, etc. (about 60 lbs.)
Ability to work with novice to experienced computer users
Ability to juggle various tasks at one time and determine their priorities
Ability to be flexible
Ability to maintain confidentiality as required
Good oral and written communication skills
