Strong organization, but not employee centric

NACo has a strong reputation in DC and around the country, and delivers good products; however, it is clear from day one that the organization does not care about your career advancement or your general happiness. The Executive Director and others have explicitly said that they intend to overwork staff. Policies and demands often are at loggerheads with demands and needs of employees. Managers and supervisors work nights and weekends without any compensation, and the stress trickles down to the rest of the staff.
