I had recieved a call from a HR recruiter from National City on 4/8, I have left several messages for Stephanie to call me back. To date (4/24)I have yet to receive a call back letting me know if the position was filled or what. This is very poor practice on the companys part especially seeing there are several postions posted on there website for managers. Is this there normal practice?

I worked for NC and while their customer commitment looks good on paper, their main goal is get the customer to “buy” all the products offered regardless if the product fits the customer need. What happened to “doing what’s right for the customer” instead of doing what’s best for the shareholder.

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at National City? Any advice on striking the right note?

I worked for NCB as a contractor in Human Resources and if you are not a certain color. they will not hire you. I enjoyed working there, but I am white and did not get hire. I have applied several times and get no response. I have the experiences.

Do you work at National City? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I am only a customer observing staff without really knowing what is going on but I can tell you that something is not right at the LaGrange, Ky office. Things started to turn around and the it was a great environment to step into towards then end of last year. I can only assume that it had to do with the new management. She suddenly left which I do not believe was on her own accord. Now the Office Manager took over and you can feel the tension in the office. Furthermore, all the staff is leaving one by one. I think the obvious solution is to get rid of the manager before the branch completely falls apart. I think it is hanging on by a thread. They should beg the old manager to come back!

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at National City? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at National City?

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does National City stack up against the competition?
