Urban Planner (Former Employee) – Kingston – January 3, 2017
National Housing Trust is a high level agency of the Government of Jamaica. Employs a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to undertake the vision
A typical day entails preparing and updating project management plans, project budgets, managing projects based on scheduled activity and milestones. Preparing status reports. Monitoring and following up with Project Consultants on the preparation and submission of outputs for assigned housing development projects. Monitoring the submission of housing plans to regulatory agencies to obtain approval prior to project implementation.
I learned the importance of ensuring that all project activities are identified at the conceptual stage so as to prevent delays and cost over runs.
Hardest part of the job was identifying suitable lands for housing development. Most enjoyable part was the annual staff functions and the monthly activities at the company's Sports Club.
