Assistant Manager of Operations (Current Employee), Nashville, TN – February 27, 2014
Pros: healthcare benefits, discounts
Cons: short lunch, low payroll dollars
A typical day at work is making sure the business is set up for success from the start of the shift. Having all associates show up to work on time, in dress code, and keeping them aware of any promotional changes are key indicators for the day to flow in the right direction. Educating them on techniques and best practices to help exceed customer satisfaction. – more... Having respect for each other and keeping it fun, really makes the team complete. Supervising co-workers to follow policy and procedures as well as operational standards are key to running a successful business. The hardest part is having to adapt to the various work schedule. Such as working a shift from 1p.m.-10p.m. and then the next shift 8a.m.-5p.m. The most enjoyable part of the job are the perks. Discounts for cell phone services, banking services, and other retail stores are the great advantages for working for this company. – less

Pros: great staff, great management, hours, discounts
Cons: pay, hours, benefits
A typical day at work was taking all new merchandise into back fitting room area and begin either folding them on folding table if they needed folding or tagged with price tags and alarm sensors. When it was slow in the fitting room area we would go out on the floor to assist customers in whatever they needed whether it be assisting them with new styles – more... or what was trending or assisting them in finding the correct sizes in whatever item they were looking at. During this time of interaction with customers we would suggest and sell to customers along with inform them of the current sales going on throughout the store for that day or the upcoming weekend. When we were slow we would make rounds of the floor, organizing the merchandise and stocking and restocking the shelves. From every retail store I've worked at I think I've walked away learning how to handle stressful, chaotic work environments. I learned how to talk to people better and efficiently. I learned how to provide excellent customer service and how to keep a clean and organized work area because as we were taught a presentable store makes customers happy and comfortable. I loved where I worked because everyone was just like me, a full time college student, so we all had a lot in common and could lean on each other whenever we needed encouragement. I think the hardest part of the job was this was a very popular brand and being that it was at the San Marcos outlets weekends are extremely busy. – less

Learned how to count money in a timely manner, talk to people and learn what they want by asking the right questions, provide excellent customer service, keep a clean and organized work area and make sure the store looks nice and presentable before, during and after business hours.
Hardest part of the job would be dealing with mean customers. Most – more... enjoyable part, for me, was helping customers find what they want and getting to know my co-workers. – less

we would always get our projects done for the day. I loved my managers but towards the end it was not enjoyable. My co workers always had to be in your personal life, always wanted to know everything that was going on.

A typical day at work was opening or closing the store, running the register, greeting the customers and assisting the customer with varies things they may need. Completing a monthy schedule for employees, safe count at the beginning and end of every shift, and keeping track of our stock. Folding was a big part of the job which I was not to fond of – more... but completed task with no complaints. The most enjoyable part of the job was work with and around others and meeting a wide variery of people. – less
