Pipelines that exceed work/life balance capabilities and supervisors that do not understand when to cut off work flow. Overtime is almost mandatory just to keep up, eat lunch at desk, no time for breaks and good luck being sick one day and trying to catch up.

Great place to work! Overall the culture in this company is amazing! they offer a great benefits package and many company sponsored health programs. The company is constantly growing and there are usually opportunities to move around.

Supervisor for Systems/Desktop Engineering (Current Employee) – Vienna, VA – May 14, 2017
Overall very stable and good pay but slow career progression. Progression is slow as many people never leave. Great place to work, but like many large corporations they are slow to adopt newer technologies and IT innovation.
Pros Great pay and benefits Very stable Never done layoffs Not for profit No share holders to appease Big company with small company feel in terms of working with people - dont feel like a mindless number
Cons Slow career progression Old school business mentality where they dont let good IT practices lead instead they let old business models do it Slow to accept new ideas

Only the "pretty people" actually like this company. The "grunts" don't count for anything. Youre a stepford. Conform or get kicked off the island. Many of management are simply bullies. Must have been beat up on the school bus. The salary is NOT worth selling your soul.

Great place for tech-orientated positions. Good advancement opportunities if you like this type of work (tethered to a phone w/2 computer screens), taking back-to-back, non-stop calls from members. You don't get a chance for winding down or decompressing between calls. EXTREMELY busy, non-stop position. Once you've moved away from the phones you will have it made. This can take a few years though.

NFCU is a wonderful company to work for. They strive to create a work/life balance for their employees. Navy Federal is hands on in teaching their employees the skills they need to perform the job accurately and with the highest level of excellent member service
