Very fast moving environment, where you learn to listen and cater to whats best for the customer and the company.
Package Tracker (Current Employee), High Point, NC –
Daily I will answer incoming calls from people around the country tracking and locating their packages. I learned to multi-task and sove problems quickly. At this job I did learn more about quality, and what is better for the customer and the company: listening to issues or questions, moving through the system to find out what will best assist the caller. – more...  Dealing with individuals daily I would usually deal with many different attitudes, which I took as a challenge to create a positive experience. While working with NCO calls were monitered internally and USP Corporate and recieving feedback, positive and negative, helped to improve weak points and kept each agent on their toes. – less

Collection Agent (Current Employee), Virginia Beach, VA –
Pros: hour lunch
Cons: hours 3-12am
In training right learning about the company. This company offers full benefits, the hardest part is the calling customer, I like that it offers full time hours.

Difficult company to work for
Team Lead (Coach) (Current Employee), Greensboro, NC –
Pros: peers, agent interactions
Cons: expensive health care, inconsistencies with information they provided
I enjoyed what I done because it was beneficial to the agents. I enjoy developing agents to be better agents. A typical day at work was constantly stressful, whenever meeting with management it was normally negative rarely positive. I enjoyed my co-workers they were always helpful and made you feel welcome for the most part. The hardest part of the – more...  job is remaining there. They are now shutting down and it seems to have been worse and everyone was always on pins and needles not knowing if they would have a job or not. I didn't like the fact they were somewhat unsupportive of their employees. There seemed to be no gray area unless they needed it to be and not everyone was approachable or easy to work with. – less

Providing the best customer care to consumers while buying merchandise over the phone. Taking inbound orders with high volume calls kept me busy everyday while working.

Overall, not a bad place to work. The pay was good for the area. The insurance isn't great. They have a flexible attendance policy.

It was fun . . .while it lasted . . .
Training Manager (Former Employee), Rockford, IL –
Pros: employees, duties, pay
Cons: managment, professionalism, juvinielle
When I was a CSR, I couldn't complain. When I became part of the management team, I felt so uncomfortable. Managers would talk behind each other's back at work all the time. It seemed as if they belittled everyone else to make themself look better. Most of the management, not all, but most would just simply be disrespectful, juvinielle, unprofessional, – more...  and simply left a bad taste in my mouth. I absolutley loved my job and it's duty, which was training newly hired agents for a 90 day period. I absolutley enjoyed that. When I had to go to meetings or whatnot it's like a lot of the people were totally fake. I couldn't stand it! The CEO of the company met me one time when I had been working for him for three years. Mind you I was one of his manager's for one of those three years. Also, his desk was located about 200 feet from mine. I could see it in plain sight. So that seems a bit strange to me, but dealt with it, because I couldn't fix everything. Then when I mentioned in my subtitle, while it lasted, well out of the blue I just decided that I couldn't take it anymore, and filed for unemployment, they accepted, knowing their turn over rate. Seems great, think again. I want to be treated like a human being as I take pride in the work I do. – less

nco
Customer Service Supervisor (Former Employee), Rockford, IL –
Pros: peers
Cons: management
Nco is and will be the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. The management is the absolute worst. My supervisor was one of the best supervisors out there and because another supervisor got a promotion to manager and had it out for my supervisor I,as well as my supervisor are no longer working there, that job is a joke, its all politics, if – more...  you're not kissing someones behind you can bet your bottom dollar you will amount to nothing there. I never received any recognition unless from my supervisor and to be honest i wouldn't wish this job upon my worst enemy. – less

Great place, I miss it.
Inbound Telesales Representative. (Former Employee), Sarnia, ON –
Pros: indoors, good management, flexible hours, decent commission.
Cons: difficult place to get to, late hours when starting, sales.
This was primarily a sales centre, but it wasn't incredibly high pressure. They were understanding and worked to assist agents that weren't making goal as opposed to terming them the moment they do as some centres do.
