Great place to work
Product Specialist III (Former Employee), Omaha – March 23, 2013
Pros: room to grow
I worked in two different departments at NFM. In the warehouse and in the electronics department as a Product Specialist. The sales were somewhat "sharkish" but overall it was one of the better jobs I've had.

Huge waste of 4 years
Sales (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – January 15, 2013
Pros: christmas money
Cons: no job security, $16, 000 yearly pay cut, overstaffed, they don't care about the employee
The only pro about NFM is seasonal income, aside from that it was the worst experience I could've ever had with an employer and I was there for 4 years! When I first started there they pay was hourly plus a commission, so if it was dead at least you had a paycheck, they have taken that away from the entire store, $16,000 per person!! You will need a – more... 2nd job through the summer because they will overstaff every part of the store for use in those 3 months out of the year. When I say it's good for the holidays I only mean the money you work 60 hours a week for, which they call "sick six" because you work 6 days a week, then they give you time off whenever you choose, BUT, it is UNPAID TIME OFF. They are going to the Wal-Mart employee model, so if you're a 16 year old, have fun! There's a new employee every week, they're getting rid of all the 10+ year employees because they're not lying to the customer to get a sale! – less

NFM
Merchandiser Support Administrator (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – October 18, 2012
This company is a good company to work for as far as a retailer. Although I am trying to get out of the retail industry and into a more professional industry.

Great environment to increase management skills. Has managing sales staff down to a science and frees up sales managers to solely focus on their staff.

I would NOT recommend this company.
Mid Level Manager (Former Employee), Omaha, NE – August 15, 2012
Pros: benefits are good, base salary ok
Cons: dishonest management
The Omaha office envirenment is not a pleasant place to work.
Management speak about honesty and integrety, but they do not walk it out. Many good people move on.

Some department's are good to work for, others are very poor.
Not consistent. Stay away from Electronics. Consistent issues.

Machine Operator, 40+ hrs (Former Employee), Kansas City, KS – August 2, 2012
Demanding job for small pay, people were nice but the warehouse needs to be unionized and pay needs to increase for compensation to a job where you rarely get out of work on time and bust your knuckles getting the job done.

Upbeat and well compensated
Sales Consultant (Former Employee), Kansas City – July 24, 2012
Pros: long lunch, good managers, good pay, off major holidays
Cons: health insurance, distance from most homes, straight commission
Working on the sales floor, you are on the go " if you want to make money" For the most part, schedules are set to your availability. Discount is ok, health, vision & dental could be better. 401k is great and the possibility of advancing is there if you want it.

Great place to work!
Digital Imaging Sales (Current Employee), Kansas City, KS – June 23, 2012
Pros: great pay, relaxed commission environment.
Cons: combating customer returns against your sale suggestions.
Helpful staff, eager to train and help individuals succeed. Greet customers, find the best camera solution for the lifestyle of that customer. Learned a great deal about cameras and camcorders, and improved sale technique. Management is helpful and interested in helping employees. The hardest part of the job is dealing with slow days. I enjoy going – more... to work daily. – less

Appliance/Electronics Customer Care Specialist (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – June 18, 2012
I work with great colleagues and a very supportive management team. My first day on the job my co-workers and management insisted on never letting any fellow employee fail. There are so many career paths within the company and they encourage you to explore your options and grow with NFM. Awesome benefits and discounts as well! It may be hard to provide – more... each and every customer with exactly what they want, but with the training provided and the support staff you can always provide the best care and answers for your customers! – less
