NHCS offers an afterschool program that gives students the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities from visual arts, drama and dance, music to sports, games and social play. Activity period is followed each day by dedicated homework time.
Our afterschool program is enriched by our partnerships, including our newest partnership with Troubadour, a program that focuses on teaching literacy through the arts. Troubadour works with our afterschool staff to develop innovative approaches to integrate literacy and the written word into our drama, music, dance, and visual arts afterschool programming.
The Lower School's early dismissal on Wednesdays often allows allow the afterschool program to take advantage of local and community programming offered in the Boston area. Field trips have included excursions to Adams Street Boston Public Library Branch and the Pierce House on Oakton Avenue, tennis lessons by the Franklin Park Tennis Association, and ice skating lessons at the Frog Pond on Boston Common.
Afterschool for the 2013-2014 school year begins on Tuesday, September 3. Applications for the program are available at the front desk. – less–ZoomInfo
