Too laid back to the point of unprofessional
Adult Support Staff, Chicago, IL - June 21, 2014
I accepted the position as a support staff member because I needed to get my foot into the door. This company helps out the community but at a risk. The management is horrible and needless to say the utmost rude people you will ever come across. Never in my life nor my professional life have I ever dealt with such rude individuals. They do as they please throughout the day till the end of closing time and then begin to work. They don't care about your personal life, they don't care about whatever situation you are in. I understand when a job must be done but how about doing that job when the work day begins at 9am and not towards the end at 4:30pm? Then to be yelled out as if you're a child because you cannot stay late till 8pm? Right when I began I was told about how the two sisters (management) in the Admin building were to the staff and was in complete utter shock when I heard them yell at the staff who run the shelter and deal with the women in the shelter. I've witnessed the Director of Human Resource make plenty of young vulnerable girls cry because of their domestic violence situation which is clearly not a situation they asked for but the director makes them feel as if it is their fault. Then, if things do not go her way she mentions money and the individuals who fund the program to make the girls feel subordinated. Absolutely no respect within this company and unless you want to feel degraded by all means apply for a position with this company. But do not be offended when the directors insult you with the pay. Asking for 35k with a degree is way too much and they will tell you that. You can learn a lot and take on to another job but like I stated earlier, you do so with a risk.
