researcher (Former Employee) – MA – December 7, 2013
After seeing the job opening on "indeed" for a Material Technician who would be working with crystals (grown crystals), that the job was in my hometown, and that the pay was almost double what I'm making now, I jumped up, clicked my heels and sped on to the application area. And that's when I found out that the job was through Nesco. A temp agency. I've heard nothing but bad news about Nesco. So, I did my own research and found the one company in my hometown that does crystal growth. They're not hiring Material Technicians. Oh, they're hiring technicians alright, but nothing like what's described on both the 'indeed' and 'nesco' sites. Now, I've decided to go through the extra work to research everything on this site, because 'nesco' (if not also 'indeed') is lying through their collective teeth about this position.
And of course I had to make believe, just like they're doing, in order to leave this review.
I now have a cramp from shaking my head, and a sore cheek from clenching my jaw.
This is a placement agency and thus there are more options. You have a chance to prove yourself which is dependent upon the types of assignments
Administrative Assistant / Data Entry Specialist (Former Employee) – Columbus, OH – May 27, 2017
When an employee has the option to work for a placement agency there is generally more flexibility although the perks do not exist compared to full-time regular work days. There is a good opportunity to prove oneself as well as having a good work-life balance.
The flexibility and the opportunity to seek more opportunities while job searching.
The perks such as benefits and vacation usually do not exist.
Eligibility Specialist for the state of Arkansas (Former Employee) – Sacramento, CA – April 10, 2017
Had I known that I wasn't actually being hired but instead being groomed for 3 weeks to take an proficiency test I would have passed on the job having 2 other full-time job opportunities offered to me. Nesco offered me the first position so I took it, but because they didn't retain me I passed on full-time employment in error.
Factory Worker (Former Employee) – Maysville, KY – April 10, 2017
This is a temp agency. The place I was put into I enjoyed very much. The work was very hectic at times but I was always busy, even during line down times. Management was polite. The culture was a polite-based society, even though it was also a cliche-based. All in all it was a pretty good factory. The temp agency itself can be helpful or not at all. This one has not helped me since.
Win-Wrap Associate (Former Employee) – Danville, KY – April 2, 2017
Nesco is an amazing company that will always find something for you if you're a good worker. The benefits are lack because it's a temp agency. But as far as the company as a whole I recommend them highly.
