Don't work here
Production (Current Employee) –  Crete, NEOctober 11, 2017
Pay is good, but you will have to give up your family life. Overtime is excess. Managers do not have sympathy. Union protects the lazy workers and does nothing for the hard workers. Management also has the same motto.

Production Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Flagstaff, AZSeptember 14, 2017
Busy 10 to 12 hour days. Good team work with in departments. Company's priority is safety first and then quality. Some of the younger generation do not have the passion and work ethics that the older generation does.

Processing Deck Operator (Former Employee) –  Fort Dodge, IASeptember 7, 2017
Constantly on 12 hour days when you are on a 8 hour environment schedule. Overtime all the time due to not being able to keep workers. I learned not to much a little mechanical, I did learn no matter what when management says you are trained for a job then you are trained. Which was horrible. You had no work life balance ever, spent over a year on overtime all together as did a lot of other employees.

Stressful, no advancement unless you are a friend or a family member or younger
Petcare Technician (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MO 64503August 31, 2017
Very stressful, no advancement for older employees, will hire younger employees over older for advancements even if the older employee is more experienced or more qualified for the job.Alot of bullying by other employees, clicks and also favoratism. No chance of advancement if you do not have a college degree regardless of your skills, no regard for seniority.

The pace of change has rapidly gotten faster in the past 12 months. Strong organizational leadership. Work/life balance is better at the corporate office than observed at the factories.

Great pay with benefits in a fast pace environment.
Lab Analyst (Current Employee) –  Davenport, IAAugust 23, 2017
A typical day can be anywhere from 8 hour to 12 hour shifts and weekends. Everyone I work with feels like family so there is a lot of interaction between employees and Team Leaders as well as some upper management. With lots of working hours and weekends on top of that it makes it very difficult to have any kind of a work life balance. So if you don't mind working 50+ hours a week (not including weekend hours) and want to make good money, then this is a great place to work.
Pros
Benefits and pay
Cons
Long hours and weekends

HACCP Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Clinton, IAAugust 23, 2017
Nestle is a great company to work for. The employees all seem to love their jobs. The pay is excellent and the hours are good as well. Management does a good job at making sure everyone is treated fairly.

Would not recommend to anyone who has young kids
Operator (Former Employee) –  Fort Dodge, IAAugust 23, 2017
Management is horrible no room to advance unless you are friends or related to management. There's people not qualified for the jobs they are at they pass on hiring well deserved people. Lack of communication there's no such thing as work life balance that they preach so much about. Don't dare speak up or stand up for yourself you'll have a target on your back and some of the supervisors head hunt . If your single with no kids or kids are grown out of the house go ahead and apply this is a job for someone who wants no life. Place also has a lot of adults stuck in high school.

Exciting Distribution growth to support Logistics in the West Coast
Logistics Manager (Former Employee) –  Fairburn, GAAugust 22, 2017
The daily focus is on Customer service, Quality and Safety. There is a union presence in some of the distribution facilities but not all. the workplace culture is impacted by the union presence. Solid leadership skills will be a MUST to overcome union mindset.

Great place to work to be able to comfortably provide for your family
Meat Prep/Meat Receiving Production Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Allentown, PAAugust 16, 2017
I was a supervisor on the production floor. I very much enjoyed my job for the most part. It's a difficult culture, with many individuals that have been employed there 35+ years, along with many new hires replacing those that retired. The Plant Manager is truly one of the best individual I've had the pleasure of working for. My Production Manager was equally as wonderful. Solid, stable company.
Pros
The people, the money, and potential for advancement to a certain level even if you don't have a college degree
Cons
work schedule (12 days on, 2 days off, repeat) leaves no time for family life...but that may not matter to some

Prepare for long hours in Production
Production Assistant (Former Employee) –  Bloomfield, MOAugust 14, 2017
Being in the management trainee program was a great opportunity with lots of room for learning. Managers in place at the manufacturing level are over worked and have little room for error within their work. The hours, while not unreasonable, certainly do not fit with the Nestle work life balance model. The hardest part of the job is measuring up to the standards that are being pushed top down. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to work with the great people that a company the size of N.P.P.C. is able to hire.
Pros
Lots of opportunity for learning
Cons
Top down style of management.

Management plays favorites
Senior petcare specialist (Former Employee) –  Saint Joseph, MOAugust 7, 2017
The people who suck up and don't put effort into the goals are the ones who stay. The hard workers leave, very high turn over rate. Although a particular goal couldn't be met time and time again throughout the facility, management just kept raising the goal. Management says they want others' input but when it is something they don't like, they get rid of the person. So no matter what the employers recommend since they are the ones doing the job, management is against it.

This is one of the best places to work. There is a management structure there that understands and responds to the needs of the employees. The compensation there is good too.
