Former Student. Now un Employed Enrolled Nurse. (Former Employee), Johannesburg, GPMay 8, 2014
Pros: furthering studies and good benefits.
Cons: long hours
Netcare has been a home to me that where I got to learn about being professional. Netcare is where I got to know the society about working with people as I joined Netcare as a student fresh from High School. Good working condition with very highly knowledgeable staff. Good team work with staff having a passion for Nursing. Netcare staff put all their – more... motto and values into action. Enjoyable time is when the ward is very busy that you find out @ 4pm that you missed your lunch and the work is done perfectly. The hardest part of the job is having difficult patients whereby you have to act as if all is for the sake of building a good name for our company as well as yourself. – less

BEING PRO ACTIVE AND PAYING A FINATICAL ATTENTION TO DETAIL
RECEPTIONIST (Former Employee), Gauteng, GPApril 12, 2014
Pros: at time we do not take lunch when its hectic, we compromise, patientsfirst
Cons: long working hours - 12hrs
Like in the mornings we have busy days as we are a largest private hospital in SA we need prioritise like as we admit them make sure you start with the ones who are number one on the list. Making sure you do your risk checks, taking copayments and making sure the guarantoor signs terms an conds so that if there are rejections they can be liable. The – more... accuracy on the information as the wards, hospital pharmacy, doctors all depend on my admission forms everything has to be right. You need to be pro active as well. Fast, the service must be good. I represent the values of netcare, truth, dignity, respect and participation. Catering Manager (Current Employee), Alberton, GPMarch 24, 2014
Pros: i do not prefere to be offered free lunches.
Cons: can work long hour
- When i am short staff and having a lot of functions in the same venue and with only a gap on one hour in between,to clear up and set up for thenext function.
- I learned about the importance of time management, and stretching (covering for a work that was suppose to be done by staff that are absent)
-Manage staff absenteeism.motivate staff to be possitive – more... when the department is busy.
-Enjoyable part is when I see everything going acording to the plan and receiving possitive feedback from clients. – less

Basic Ambulance Attendant (Former Employee), Rustenburg, NWFebruary 26, 2014
Pros: free lunches
Cons: 8 hours
A typical day is when there is workload and manager is putting you under pressure at the there will be no time for lunch. I leaned that i you really want to suceed in life you have to work hard there is nothing for free. Hardwork, hope, believe and prayer are the keys for success. The hardest part of my job is when there are so many patients at the – more... time and the staff is not enough. The enjoyable part is when we work as a team and everything goes smoothly – less

Accounts payable clerk (Current Employee), Sandton, GPFebruary 24, 2014
Pros: consistency
Cons: minimum room for errors
The company has assisted me with ensuring that i keep myself highly motivated to perform ny daily duties with excellency, accuracy and paying attention to detail.

I have learned that being patience and understanding towards collegues helps in understanding and assisting collegues who are under pressure or having trouble with completion of dutie. Also – more... assit with being a team player

The hardest part of the job is resolving recon items with suppliers who are unwilling to do their duties. it requires a lot of patience and knowing that a problem will never go away on its own.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the knowledge that the creditors are mostly paid upto date. – less

Legal Credit Controller (Former Employee), Johannesburg, GPFebruary 21, 2014
Pros: we always got a incentive after you reached. target and my family was offered a private room, in case they hospitalized, in any netcare facility. we got new uniform after every twelve months and they were, very smart. .
Cons: very long hours and severe pressure
Netcare is one of the best companies I worked for a day at with is usualy very busy but you enjoy the environment you work in and not everyday was the same I`ve learned to be very patient and at the same time be productive, I`ve learned that the person on the other side of the line is a human and because I worked in the Legal dept normally all our calls – more... was from very irate customers so I developed a skill were i tried to always listen and understand why they angry and dealt with the situation calmly but will manage to get the payment after the call. I got along with all my co workers in fact I couldn't wait to go to work after a weekend. the hardest part of my job was to always try and think with my head and not my heart to not get emotional involve in the customers situations my duty was to Netcare and always make sure the pmnts are made. – less

U have to be focused and mature enough for silence..most of the time
Practice Secretary (Current Employee), Johannesburg North, GPFebruary 4, 2014
Cons: long hours
A typical day at this place...always a rush...which is fun at times, because you don't have time really to focus on nothings.!The system used was all online,so theres hardly any paper lying around, everything is filed online.I learnt to further my multi tasking skills, I learnt to further accept that people aren't the same, sometimes you will be appreciated – more... and other days you will be taken for granted but the trick is to rise up and keep your head up at all times and keep believing in yourself, keeping doing your best, whether or not its appreciated or recognized, just keep keeping on.! The hardest part of the job is not to be recognized, your effort not to be recognized, all the extra miles you know that you know that you know that you're going, doesn't get recognized...that was the hard part I guess. I worked independently, which was good and not good as well, it got quiet, but worked perfectly on those hectic days.! :-) – less

Pressurised Environment
Trainer (Former Employee), Johannesburg, GPNovember 5, 2013
Pros: reasonable prices on staff lunch. training environment a bit relaxed in comparison
Cons: turn-around time in resolving areas requiring amendments not so effectively managed, no support centre in place.
Holding to its values of being a healthcare service provider. Productive and interesting personnel to work with.
Learned the ins and outs of the healthcare industry and how critical each step of the process is in a bid to save and/r sustain a life.
Teamwork is key as ones action impacts on the output on the other side of the process and can have dire – more... consequences both to a patient and to the business. Dealing with life of a person is not easy.
I enjoyed learning the bits of the medical terminology and how one disease may lead to another and what treatment goes with what to which type of people. It was interesting to see how SAP fits in every business. – less

Registered Nurse (Current Employee), Krugersdorp, GPOctober 2, 2013
Pros: chance to earn extra through overtime.
Cons: long hours
Working at Netcare is a lifetime experience that is a dream of every nurse. The working environment is ok and the staff there are very accommodative. The management is good making it easy for a new comer to learn. Co-workers in the ICU department are friendly and helpful too. It is quite amazing every day one learns something new through the state of – more... the art medical equipment the company has and the sad thing is no matter the equipment, it is hard to let go a patient that would have deteriorated to iressuscitable levels. – less
