Working at Netflix

  • ElizaDay in Burlingame, California 32 months ago
I was reading some reviews on Glass House about working at Netflix and more than 50% of the comments have been from people who were fired out of the blue for no apparent reason. So many reviews warned others for not seeking employment. They will get fired, it's only a matter of time. This concerns me for obvious reasons. I've been submitting myself for mid management positions in their corporate headquarters in Los Gatos. If I end up getting hired, I will have to move closer to that region of the bay area as the commute would be too much. I have to take pause when I read these reviews. Is Netflix really that bad? If so, then why would I want to uproot my life if I'm sitting on a ticking bomb? Anybody?

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Netflix? Any advice on striking the right note?

What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Netflix? What do you like best about working at Netflix? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

I did receive a call from Netflix. The phone interview was setup for a date and time. Never received the call. I hope this doesn`t happen all the time. Anything on a comment?

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Netflix? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Netflix?

This position has been open 3 times in the last 24 months. Are they promoting from within or is that a bad sign?
